How to Ship a Golf Club

By Christopher Michael

You sense the nuances of golf through your clubs. You touch the grooves of the grip, judge the angle of the shaft and feel the weight of the club head during every swing. Your clubs enable you to perform and you're used to them; any imperfection can throw you off. Ship your golf club the right way to preserve its integrity.

Cardboard Tube

Purchase some bubble wrap and a triangular cardboard tube. These club-specific packages feature a strong cardboard shaft that resists bending and crushing, with just enough space for packing materials and your club. They come in different sizes, so make sure the club fits the length of the tube. Find these tubes at your local shipping store, such as UPS, FedEx, or your local post office. Cut out a section of bubble wrap and tape it around the head of the club. Do the same for the lower shaft, where the shaft meets the club head. Wrap the entire club in a sheet of bubble wrap, paper towels or a towel and slide it into the tube. Seal it, take it to your preferred shipper and pay for postage. Or you can just take the club to your preferred shipper where they professionally pack and ship it for a fee.
