Bladder Area Hurts When Walking
Pain around your bladder area while walking may be due to a number of conditions, including interstitial cystitis (also called painful bladder syndrome), endometriosis, bladder distention and bladder cancer. Discontinue your walking if you are experiencing unbearable, sharp, shooting pain to diminish your chances of hurting yourself further. Consult your doctor to obtain an accurate diagnosis of the cause of your bladder pain and proper treatment.
If you are experiencing serious medical symptoms, seek emergency treatment immediately.
Painful Bladder Syndrome
Interstitial cystitis, or painful bladder syndrome, is a condition with which you experience recurring pain in your bladder and surrounding area. Other discomforts that accompany painful bladder syndrome are frequency and urgency of urination, where the filling of the bladder increases the pain. Women who suffer from painful bladder syndrome also experience an increase in pain while menstruating and during intercourse, the National Kidney and Urologic Diseases Information Clearinghouse explains.

If you are experiencing pain in your bladder area as a woman, particularly during your menses, you may have a condition called endometriosis. Endometriosis is when the tissue lining your uterus, called the endometrial tissue, has abnormal growth. This tissue responds to hormones and thickens during your menstrual cycle. Excess tissue is usually released once you have finished menstruating. Treatment for endometriosis includes pain medications, medications that halt growth of the endometrial tissue and surgery.

Cystitis
Cystitis is when your bladder is inflamed, which may cause pain in that area of your body when you walk. It is commonly caused by a bacterial infection and, if left untreated, can affect the health of your kidneys. Cystitis can also be a reaction to medication; it is treated with antibiotics.
