Zipping up a sauna suit before your jog — either outdoors or on a treadmill — can leave you dripping in sweat by the end of the workout. Given the safety risks of this garment, however, you should avoid it.
More Sweat Doesn't Mean Fat Loss
By forming an air-tight seal around much of your body, sauna suits increase your body temperature and cause you to sweat heavily. While sweating more might trick you into feeling as though you worked out at a higher tempo, sweating isn't tied to fat burning. Although you might sweat enough to lose a pound during your workout, your rapid weight loss is the result of lost water weight. As soon as you drink a glass of water after your jog, you'll gain back the water weight you lost.

Not only are sauna suits not ideal for healthy weight loss, but they can also be harmful to your health. Losing sweat leads to dehydration, which can result in a number of serious medical emergencies. Depending on your level of dehydration, this list can include heat stroke, kidney damage, exhaustion and even death. The bottom line: Don't wear a sauna suit while jogging; it's not worth the risk.
