Aside from the emotional sacrifice and challenge entering the military brings, one also must be in top physical strength to survive and thrive in the military. To ensure that enlistees and members are in top physical condition, candidates must pass the military's body fat tape test. This test consists of taking an individual’s height, weight, neck circumference and abdomen circumference and plugging the numbers into a formula to determine the person’s body fat percentage. Tips

When it comes time for the test, and you’ve spent weeks dieting, exercising and drinking massive amounts of water, you may still be unsure as to whether or not you will pass. There are a couple of tricks you can try: Straighten and lift your neck in the air to make your neck appear thinner, and suck in your gut to make your stomach appear smaller. However, you must perform these actions proportionally, or it could make the results of the test go in a direction other than you desire. Do these two actions simultaneously by sucking your abs up to your chest, putting your shoulders back and lifting your neck straight up.
