What Is Glucosamine HCI?
Glucosamine is a supplement that comes in several forms and is sometimes combined with ingredients such as shark cartilage or chondroitin sulfate. The different forms of glucosamine supplements include glucosamine hydrochloride, glucosamine sulfate and N-acetyl-glucosamine 12. Research on glucosamine is generally focused on glucosamine sulfate, but there is some information available on glucosamine hydrochloride, also called glucosamine HCl 1.

Glucosamine Hydrochloride Details
Glucosamine HCl can be found in the cartilage at the ends of your bones, in the fluid in your joints or in the exoskeletons of shellfish. Because glucosamine HCl can be found in human joints, some researchers have theorized that the substance may benefit people who suffer from osteoarthritis, back pain or knee pain by helping the body heal arthritis damage and reduce inflammation. Although some preliminary studies have looked at the effects of glucosamine HCl in the human body, no decisive conclusions have been made about how it works in the human body when consumed as a supplement.
