Biggest Loser Diet Plan

By Natalie Stein ; Updated July 18, 2017

The Biggest Loser Meal Plan is a diet delivery program which is endorsed by the popular television reality show. This diet may be a attractive option for weight loss if you do not want to cook for yourself because it provides all of your meals and most of your snacks. Get your doctor’s approval before starting any weight loss program or diet.

You can purchase a Biggest Loser Meal Plan for five days or seven days per week. Each day includes a breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack, and you can order your food online or over the phone. The plan is designed by dietitians, and it claims that it can help you lose 1 to 2 lbs. per week. Once you sign up, you can access the member site, which has suggestions for small snacks to add to your daily program.

Meal Delivery

The Biggest Loser Meal Plan includes weekly delivery of your meals and snacks. They are in “chill-fresh” packaging, which means that they are refrigerated, not frozen. Meals and snacks come on food trays, packaged in disposable polystyrene coolers with gel packs to keep the contents cold. Biggest Loser meals contain no preservatives, and after you receive them, they can last for up to 10 days in the 'fridge. Another option, if you are not ready to eat them yet, is to freeze them for up to three months.

Meal Choices

You can choose your own individual meals, or use the Members’ Favorites Package if you do not want to customize your plan. Breakfast choices include a spinach, egg and cheese wrap, pancakes with sausage, scrambled eggs and French toast. For lunch, you could have a pork chop with rice and vegetables, chicken breast with rice, pasta or beans, turkey chili with rice and broccoli or a tuna salad wrap. Sample dinner options have pork, chicken, fish and beef options served with a side of rice, pasta or potatoes and vegetables. Some snack choices are trail mix, soy nuts and tortilla chips.

The Biggest Loser Meal plan costs $153.65 per week if you order the seven-day plan, and $119.75 per week for the five-day plan. This is an average of about $22 to $24 per day for your three meals and snack. Another potential disadvantage of using the Biggest Loser Meal Plan for weight loss is that it does not prepare you for maintaining your weight after you stop using the diet and you go back to cooking for yourself. Once you reach your goal weight, you can continue to use the program at a higher calorie level to prevent regaining the weight. If you choose to leave the program, you risk returning to your old cooking and eating habits, and regaining the weight.
