However, participation in group exercise classes will increase the number of calories you are able to burn and can improve your metabolic rate. Body Balance is a Les Mills exercise program, which burns calories as well as toning your body

What is Body Balance?

Body Balance, known as Body Flow in the U.S., is a group workout focused on flexibility and strength conditioning which combines yoga, tai chi and Pilates. A class is made up of 45 minutes of stretches, balances and toning exercises and is followed by 10 minutes of relaxation and meditation.

Metabolic Rate and Calories

Your metabolic rate is your body’s efficiency at burning calories or using energy. Your metabolic rate can be increased by taking part in regular exercise. Diet, weight and medical conditions also affect the number of calories your body burns when resting or taking part in exercise.

Calories Burned

The number of calories burned in Body Balance will vary on your age, weight and level of fitness. An average woman can burn around 265 calories per class, and a male could burn 304. The intensity of the class and your own metabolic rate will also affect the actual number.
