Orangina Ingredients

Orangina is a lightly carbonated citrus drink created in 1935 and now enjoyed throughout the world. It is readily recognized for being sold in a distinctive bulbous bottle designed to resemble the orange fruit. The main ingredient of Orangina is carbonated water. With its distinctive, sweet citrus flavor, Orangina also contains high fructose corn syrup and a blend of four different citrus juices.

High Fructose Corn Syrup

After carbonated water, Orangina contains high fructose corn syrup as an ingredient. High fructose corn syrup has the same calories and sweetness of regular sugar, but has a higher ratio of fructose to glucose. This altered ratio gives high fructose corn syrup a longer shelf life and less of a tendency to form crystals. Because of this, and the fact that is is less expensive than regular sugar, high fructose corn syrup is often used in processed foods and drinks.
