The 24-hour stomach flu, also called the stomach bug, is the result of catching a virus. One of the main symptoms of it is violent attacks of diarrhea and vomiting. It also causes weakness, dizziness and abdominal pain. It can also lead to dehydration.
When food is left out for extended periods or it just gets contaminated, it can cause illness. Bacteria and toxins can form on it from being handled and stored improperly. This can lead to attacks of vomiting and diarrhea that can happen almost instantly to 48 hours after consumption. This also comes accompanied with fever, chills and dehydration.
Stress and anxiety bring a lot of unwanted symptoms. They can cause raise your heart rate, cause rapid mood swings, head aches and sexual dysfunction. But they can also lead to upset stomachs. People who get really stressed out can develop episodes of diarrhea and vomiting.
Lactose is the sugar component of milk and milk products. An enzyme in the stomach called lactase is what breaks this down for digestion. There are some people who are lactose intolerant who do not produce this enzyme. When they eat or drink milk products, they can have symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhea.
There is a condition known as viral gastroenteritis, which can wreak havoc on the body. It is an infection that takes place in the intestines and it is very contagious. Symptoms include headaches, chills and fever. But the most severe symptoms are vomiting and diarrhea.
