What Is a Betaine HCL Activator?
Betaine is a supplement required, as a methyl donor, to synthesize the amino acid methionine from homocysteine 1. When combined with hydrochloric acid (HCL), betaine detoxes all the body's organs and glands by activating the immune system's efficiency; this process allows the immune system to respond to organs such as the kidneys, liver, pancreas, skin, lungs and so forth 1. The compound betaine HCL can be consumed daily, orally, in powder or pill form; consult your physician before attempting any type of treatment 1.
If you are experiencing serious medical symptoms, seek emergency treatment immediately.
History
According to Sterling Hart, a highly trained neuropathic consultant at the Winston Salem Neuropathic Clinic, the compound betaine HCL was discovered by medical pioneers in the 1930s 1. The researchers found that consuming a dilute, natural source of hydrochloric acid alone orally often produced poor responses. Combining it with specific synergist activators, potassium and other mineral salts, in this case betaine, eliminated long-standing infections such as:
- tuberculosis
- malaria
- cancerous tumors
- tonsillitis 1

Learn More
The hydrochloric acid solution can break down so-called impervious polysaccharide sacs surrounding virulent disease organisms called biofilms; 99 percent of all infections exist in these sacs, according to Hart. HCL detox therapy itself is safe, efficient, easy to use and relatively inexpensive.
Considerations
If, after several weeks, you experience no major cleansing reactions you may increase the level of detoxification; however, if you begin to experience burning in the stomach or increased fatigue, return to the original dosage. HCL detox therapy tends to detoxify the head and mouth areas first. Swelling symptoms may occur if there are congested lymph areas in the head and neck region.

Medline states that betaine HCL controls homocystinuria, an inherited condition in which the body cannot break down a certain protein, causing buildup of homocysteine in the blood, but does not cure it 1. This condition leads to further problems such as:
- osteroperosis
- blood clots
- decreased weight or rate of weight change
- tiredness
- seizures
- abnormal bone structure
- dislocation of the eye lens
Continue taking betaine HCL unless your physician advises you to discontinue use; side effects may include loss of consciousness, behavior changes, nausea, confusion and seizures 1.
Expert Insight
Hart recommends detoxing by taking the betaine HCL and activator with water 1. If you suffer from dental issues you should drink the solution through a straw. HCL betaine detoxifies the mouth area first; if there are congested lymph areas in the head and neck region, swelling may occur 1. You may increase dosage if no major reaction occurs. Consult your physician about exact dosage.
