Lean Pork Calories

Although bacon and some other pork products are high in calories, lean cuts of pork are not. The American Heart Association recommends pork tenderloin and loin chops as lean cuts of pork.

Serving Size

According to, a serving of meat is 3 oz. That's about the size of a deck of cards -- a smaller portion of meat than many Americans are accustomed to eating.


A 3-oz. portion of roasted pork tenderloin has 120 calories, while 3 oz. of a broiled pork center loin chop has 153 calories. A broiled boneless top loin chop has 173 calories in each 3-oz. serving.


In each 3-oz. serving, pork tenderloin has 3 g of total fat, pork center loin chops have 6.2 g of total fat and boneless top loin chops have 5.2 g of total fat. Pork tenderloin is the lowest in both total fat and saturated fat, with just 1 g of saturated fat per serving.
