HealthRider SoftStrider Treadmill Review

By Ann Olson

The Healthrider SoftStrider is a low-impact treadmill designed to increase a person's cardiovascular performance. It differs from other treadmills because of its compatibility, allowing people access to a virtual personal trainer.

The SoftStrider contains 10 built-in fitness programs, a heart rate monitor, speeds of 0 to 12 miles-per-hour (MPH), pulse sensors, an LED display console, power inclines of 0 to 10 percent and cooling fans. It is also compatible, which allows you to virtually connect with a personal trainer who motivates and instructs you while you use the treadmill.

The treadmill can be used to maximize how many calories are burned during a workout, increasing the caloric deficit--a factor that can cause weight loss. According to, you can also maximize your aerobic workout by adjusting the speed and incline.

The treadmill contains shock-absorbing treadbelts, which can reduce tension on the joints, ankles and knees. It can also safely accommodate weights of up to 330 pounds.

As of August 2010, the treadmill retails for $1,499 on The treadmill is not available in retail stores.
