How to Get Rid of Body Blemishes
Though most people think of acne as a face issue, blemishes can pop up anywhere on your body where dirt, oil or other debris clog your pores. It's not uncommon to get breakouts on your back, chest and arms. In fact, back acne is so common that it's gotten its own nickname: bacne. Body blemishes can clear up with many of the same remedies you use to treat blemishes on your face.
Use a body wash or cleanser that contains 2 percent salicylic acid every time you shower, recommends the beauty department at the "Marie Claire" magazine website. The salicylic acid will clean out your pores to clear up blemishes and prevent future breakouts.
Apply a noncomedogenic body lotion to skin after showering. Skipping the moisturizer can actually cause your skin to dry out and produce more acne-causing oil, so hydrating your body is essential.
Crush two aspirin and mix them with one drop of honey and one drop of water to make a quick spot treatment for inflamed blemishes, recommends dermatologist Ava Shamban on the "Cosmopolitan" website. The acetyl-salicylic acid in the aspirin will soothe inflammation and redness, while honey's mild antibacterial properties kill bacteria, making your pimple almost instantly less noticeable.
Wear loose clothes made with natural fibers to prevent pore-clogging sweat and skin irritation.
Ask your dermatologist about acne laser treatments if body acne is an ongoing issue for you. These treatments quickly and effectively clean out pores and destroy bacteria to give you clear skin.
Avoid benzoyl peroxide treatments for body blemishes because benzoyl peroxide can bleach your clothes.
