Ingredients in VitaClear Vitamins
VitaClear vitamins are designed to promote healthy and clear skin. They are marketed by the Guthy-Renker company and are advertised as a complement to the Proactiv skincare system. Good nutrition provides the vitamins and minerals necessary for healthy skin. Taking a vitamin supplement can replace these nutrients that might be deficient from the diet. VitaClear vitamins contain 12 vitamins to promote skin health. Vitamin A is included in a total of 10,000 IU, along with 500mg of vitamin C, 200 IU of vitamin D and 200 IU of vitamin E. Vitamin A can help prevent skin dryness and vitamin E can improve skin tone. VitaClear vitamins also contain 6.5 mg of thiamin, 6.7 mg of riboflavin, 45 mg of niacin, 12 mg of vitamin B-6, 400 mcg of folic acid, 26 mcg of vitamin B-12 and 30 mg of panthothenic acid.
Several minerals play a role in the health and clarity of the skin. Selenium can help prevent skin cancer, while copper and zinc promote skin elasticity. VitaClear contains 60 mcg of selenium, along with 2 mg of copper and 30 mg of zinc. Other minerals included in the vitamin supplement include 150 mg of calcium, 75 mg of magnesium, 4 mg of iron, 49 mg of potassium and 50 mcg of iodine. Manganese is included in a dosage of 1.5 mg, with 75 mcg of chromium, 50 mcg of molybdenum and 50 mcg of boron.
VitaClear contains a mixture of fruits and vegetables for additional vitamins and minerals. Included in the mixture are orange juice, pineapple, apple juice, tomato, spinach, beets, carrots, celery seed, asparagus, broccoli, green bell pepper and shitake mushrooms. VitaClear also contains rice bran, citrus bioflavonoids and rose hips.
Like most nutritional supplements, VitaClear contains a number of binders, fillers and additives for stability and to hold the product together. Calcium phosphate, dextrates, silica, cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, stearic acid, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide and carmine are included. Carmine is responsible for the color of the vitamin supplement.
