How Many Calories Are Burned With the "Last Chance Workout"?

By Paige Johansen ; Updated July 18, 2017

"The Biggest Loser: Last Chance Workout" is an exercise video led by fitness guru Jillian Michaels, perhaps the most well-known trainer from the hit TV show "The Biggest Loser." Like most of Jillian's workouts, this one is focused on high-intensity cardio intervals and strength training. It is based on the workouts she creates for contestants before the big weigh-in on "The Biggest Loser." The video is meant to burn calories and increase strength. As always, individual calorie burn differs based on a variety of factors.

Calories Burned

Here's the quick answer: the average 150-pound person will burn about 300 to 400 calories doing the entire 60-minute video, which includes a warm-up, high-intensity interval training, targeted toning and a cool-down. But many factors could alter your calorie burn; for example: how much effort you put in, your current fitness level and your weight -- the more you weigh, the more you burn. To estimate individual results, you can use an online "calorie burn" calculator or wear a heart rate monitor. Remember that increasing your overall fitness also increases your metabolism, so exercise can help you burn more calories even when you aren't working out.
