Calories in Yogurt Covered Pretzels

Most yogurt-covered pretzels contain unhealthy ingredients that pack on calories and fat without contributing many nutrients. In fact, the so-called yogurt on many of these pretzels is actually sugar and oil instead of real yogurt.


A 1.4 oz. serving of yogurt-covered pretzels contains 190 calories, according to Calorie King.


A 1.4 oz. serving of yogurt-covered pretzels has 9 g of fat, eight of them from saturated fat. It also contains 75 mg of sodium, 28 g of carbohydrates, 17 g of sugar and 2 g of protein. This snack contains no dietary fiber.

The coating on most yogurt-covered pretzels is made of sugar and palm kernel oil rather than real yogurt, according to information from Alyse Levine, a registered dietitian. This coating accounts for much of the fat and calories in the snack and unlike real yogurt, it provides little protein, calcium and vitamins. If you're watching your calorie intake, yogurt-covered pretzels should be limited to an occasional treat.
