A volleyball is used to play indoor volleyball or beach volleyball. There are several different brands, but they are all assembled in the same way.
Volleyballs are round and normally consist of eighteen rectangular panels, arranged in six identical sections.
Volleyballs are made of synthetic or genuine leather, which is wrapped around a rubber and butyl material known as the bladder.
The youth version of an indoor volleyball is smaller and weighs much less than an adult volleyball.
The average youth volleyball weighs about 9 oz. and is 25 to 26 inches in circumference. An adult volleyball can weigh up to 10 oz. and is 25 1/2 to 26 1/2 inches in circumference. Beach volleyballs have a heavier weight and are slightly larger. They normally weigh 10 oz. and are 26 to 27 inches circumference.
Traditional indoor volleyballs are white, but sometimes there are three different colors mixed together. Outdoor volleyballs are normally brightly colored.
There are many different brands of volleyballs, but some of the most popular are Mikasa, Tachikara, Wilson and Molten.
