How to Set a New Balance HRT Step

By Lea Miller

The New Balance HRT Step is a watch that also functions as a heart rate monitor and pedometer. When you wear the watch, a metal plate on the back contacts your wrist. When you touch two sensors on the watch face with two fingers of your other hand, these three points of contact create a circuit through your body. The watch reads electrical signals from your heartbeat through this circuit to measure your heart rate. Optimize the accuracy of the watch's special functions by setting it with age, gender and body size information at the same time you set the normal time and date functions.
