How to Reset a Nordictrack Exp1000

By Kallie Johnson

A NordicTrack Exp1000 is an electric treadmill. The speed and the incline of the treadmill can be changed based on your preferences and fitness level. The unit receives power from an electrical outlet. However, a rechargeable coin cell battery is used to remember and store your personal preferences and workout settings, in the event of a power outage or if the unit is unplugged while being moved or relocated. If you wish to reset the unit back to its factory settings, you must leave the unit unplugged long enough for the coin cell battery to run out of power and reset itself. Once this occurs, your stored information cannot be recovered.

Press the "Stop" button to turn off the NordicTrack Exp1000, if it's running.

Pull the key out of the NordicTrack Exp1000.

Locate the treadmill's "On/Off" switch, located on the treadmill near the power cord. Flip the switch to the "Off" position.

Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Leave the power cord disconnected for at least two hours, or overnight, if possible.

Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. Flip the "On/Off" switch back to the "On" position.
