Pro Bowl Compensation
Players on the winning Pro Bowl team received $53,000 each in the 2014 game, while players on the losing team received $26,000. Players who are elected to the Pro Bowl but choose not to play or are unable to play because they are playing in the Super Bowl the following week, receive no compensation.
Many players have incentive clauses in their contracts providing for bonuses from their teams should they be selected to play in the Pro Bowl. For example, Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh received a $1 million bonus for playing in the 2014 game.
Players receive free round-trip airfare and accommodations in the host city for the Pro Bowl. In addition, the NFL holds a variety of events during the week leading up to the game, at which the players receive gifts, food and other perks.
