Cookie Cake Nutrition Facts

By Brian Willett

Cookie cake is a marriage of two of the tastiest desserts available and satisfies the craving for a massive cookie you may have. Although cookie cake appears to be quite similar to a regular cookie, a slice of cookie cake may be significantly higher in calories than a cookie. The nutrition information below applies to Mrs. Fields cookie cake; note that other brands may have different nutritional values.

Calorie Content

According to the nutrition information provided by Mrs. Fields, one slice of chocolate chip cookie cake contains 350 calories. Based upon the daily recommended intake of 2000 calories, one slice of cookie cake provides 17.5 percent of your daily calories. However, exercise and other daily activities may require a higher calorie intake. According to the Mayo Clinic, a half hour of engaging in Tae kwon do can burn 365 calories, more than the amount provided by one slice of chocolate chip cookie cake.

Fat Content

According to the nutrition information provided by Mrs. Fields, cookie cake is high in fat, with 17 g per slice. Of this fat, 8 g come from saturated fat, although none comes from trans fat, which is considered to be the least healthy form of fat. Mrs. Fields notes that one slice of cookie cake provides 26 percent of the daily recommended intake of total fat and 38 percent of the daily recommended intake of saturated fat. Although saturated fat may increase your risk of heart disease, fitness expert Anthony Ricciuto explains that saturated fat can also increase your testosterone levels, which supports muscle development. However, this does not make cookie cake an ideal food for improving body composition.

Carbohydrate Content

Cookie cake is high in carbohydrates — Mrs. Fields points out that one slice contains 45 g of carbohydrates, with 27 g of sugar and less than 1 g of fiber. Fiber is important, because it helps you feel full by slowing down the absorption of food. Unfortunately, sugar is absorbed quickly by your body, and in the absence of fiber, cookie cake may not satisfy your appetite, despite its high calorie content.

Protein Content

Cookie cake is not a rich source of protein, according to Mrs. Fields' nutrition information. Each slice contains 4 g of protein. Protein is essential for optimal health, according to the National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health. Protein is a major part of the skin, muscles, organs and glands and is present in all of your body's cells.

Other Nutrient Content

Although cookie cake is not healthy, it does contain some vitamins and minerals, according to Mrs. Fields. Each slice provides 8 percent of the daily recommended intake of iron, 6 percent of the daily recommended intake of vitamin A and 4 percent of the daily recommended intake of calcium.
