Where to Donate Blood Following the Las Vegas Shooting

By Ada Ciuca ; Updated October 02, 2017

In the aftermath of Sunday night’s Las Vegas mass shooting, people are coming together to support the more than 500 injured Route 91 Harvest festivalgoers.

The most immediate need, ABC News reports, is for blood donations. Early Monday morning, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo urged volunteers to step forward and solely utilize United Blood Services and the University Medical Center to donate.

“If you have the ability to donate blood to help the cause, please do so,” Lombardo said. Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval echoed the sentiment, stating in a news conference, “We need blood.”

Here is a list of Nevada United Blood Services locations where volunteers can donate to help the victims of the tragic event. Lines have been out the door since the early morning, and the Nevada Department of Public Safety advises those willing to donate to make a reservation through

The Red Cross and Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada are accepting monetary donations. MGM Resorts International, the parent company of Las Vegas hotel Mandalay Bay, is urging any local certified trauma counselors to volunteer their time.

Our thoughts are with the people of Nevada and all others affected by this senseless act of violence.
